Dept: Perak sinkholes caused by Sumatra quakes

The sinkholes that occurred at various places in the state were caused by the multiple earthquakes that rocked Sumatra last week, the Perak Mineral and GeoScience Department confirmed. Department director Mohd Noor Ayoob said all the 14 sinkholes were seismically induced, that is, they were caused by earth tremors.
